GBP/USD Analysis
Yesterday this pair had a fairly strong and clean upwards move. There was no real explanation for this so it was probably positioning or rumours ahead of the Bank of England’s key announcements that are due later today.
Anything might happen but a surprise will probably have more effect if it is bullish than bearish.
Regarding the GBP, there will be releases of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Summary and Official Bank Rate plus Votes at Noon London time. Concerning the USD, there will be a release of Unemployment Claims data at 1:30pm.
