The best method to identify a classic “price action reversal” is for an hourly candle to close, such as a pin bar, a doji, an outside or even just an engulfing candle with a higher close. You can exploit these levels or zones by watching the price action that occurs at the given levels.
AUD/USD Analysis
This pair is still in a long-term bullish trend, but the action is looking more and more bearish as wave after wave rejects the highs. It feels increasingly as if this long-term resistance at 0.7700 and above will hold and possibly produce the start of a large downwards movement. If the USD gets a boost later during the Asian session, it would not be surprising if this pair fell very hard. Alternatively, if President Trump seriously disappoints the market, there could finally be a bullish breakout to new multi-month highs here, so we are probably at a pivotal moment.
Concerning the AUD, there will be a release of GDP data at 12:30am London time. Regarding the USD, there will be a release of Preliminary GDP data at 1:30pm, followed by CB Consumer Confidence at 3pm. President Trump will be speaking before a joint session of Congress at 2am.
