The best method to identify a classic “price action reversal” is for an hourly candle to close, such as a pin bar, a doji, an outside or even just an engulfing candle with a higher close. You can exploit these levels or zones by watching the price action that occurs at the given levels.
GBP/USD Analysis
This pair is now moving back in line with its longer-term bearish trend, so at the time of writing the trend is aligned on all time frames downwards. The price seems to be breaking below the support level of 1.2232 although at this time of day, it is worth being cautious about false breaks. If the price remains below that level, the outlook will remain bearish and the price will look to be heading for the next support at 1.2133.
There is nothing due today concerning either the GBP or the USD.
