The best method to identify a classic “price action reversal” is for an hourly candle to close, such as a pin bar, a doji, an outside or even just an engulfing candle with a higher close. You can exploit these levels or zones by watching the price action that occurs at the given levels.
EUR/USD Analysis
I wrote yesterday that the short-term price action suggested a move down over the day, and there was room for the price to fall. I thought that the action would probably be messy, but also that we were more likely than not to see a down day. I was wrong as the price has continued to rise.
There is new support at 1.1178 but also key resistance close by at 1.1223. I think the level at 1.1223 is going to be the pivotal point for today. I would take a bearish bias if there is a strong bearish reversal there should that price be reached later today.
The market is very mixed at present, with currencies not rising or falling as groups but with a lot of independent movement instead, which creates a less certain trading environment for the time being.
There is nothing important due today concerning either the EUR or the USD.
